The Southern California Desert is a rare and special place, and while it accommodates the classic and the traditional, it also inspires with its vibrant colors and amazing array of textures.
This bouquet, for example, features succulents, hypericum, garden roses with the orange blush of a desert sunset, and, peeking out from between the flowers, a bit of heirloom lace and treasured piece of family jewelry. The groom’s boutonniere echoes the colors and textures, but with a masculine emphasis.
The other characteristic of California in general, and of the desert in particular, is that you can be as brightly colorful as you wish. The desert colors are not only the tans and dark greens from the desert floor, the vivid colors of the desert sunset, the bright accents of tropical flowers or the rich blues of the desert sky.
This bride’s vision was full of color, as you can see.
And bling! There’s always room for a bit of bling. Bling can be subtle, just a light diamond dust or opalescent dust to catch the candlelight, or it can be bold – large crystal broaches worked into the design, or blankets of crystals wrapping the handle.
Here we have a classic white bouquet. But white need not be boring or overly conventional. This white bridal bouquet was made all the more interesting through the use of textures and silvery-grey foliage, and accented with bling to compliment the bride’s dress.
